A few more records of the 'excellent' wound repair work carried out in the 1980s in Germany. The 'decay' protecting snake-oil paint was called Baylaton.
Absolutely no use what so ever but it did look quite neat when complete with drainage pipes!

Proof that we could work without a ladder - and without a helmet etc!!

In order to preserve the longevity of some structurally
suspect trees, we would insert as many stainless-steel 16mm
bolts as possible, complete with bespoke nylon washers which
were cut-to-fit.
These actually work!
Note the natty footwear!
